By DermaRatings Editorial TeamUpdated Facts checked 9 min read

The CurrentBody Series 2 mask cost $469.99 on 24 Oct 2026 and uses red, near-infrared and deep near-infrared light1. Five alternatives cost less. HigherDOSE ($349) and Shark ($349.99) save about $120, and both have FDA 510(k) records that name the mask4,10,14. Here are 6 options, all checked on the same day.

Quick list

  • Lowest price: HigherDOSE at $349 and Shark CryoGlow at $349.994,10
  • Shortest session: Qure and Dr. Dennis Gross, 3 minutes3,8
  • Same 10-minute session, lower price: Omnilux Contour at $3956
  • Under-eye cooling: Shark CryoGlow10

Why people look for CurrentBody alternatives

  • Price. The Series 2 mask is $469.99, the kit is $549.99 and the face and neck kit is $799.991. Five of the six masks below cost less than the mask alone.
  • Study claims. The page says the mask is "reducing wrinkles by 30% and improving plumpness by 57% in 8 weeks"1. The note under it points to a "56-day study on Series 2 LED Face Mask, 35 subjects"1. That is the brand's own study, not a published trial.
  • Return terms. CurrentBody gives 30 days, but only if the item is "new and unused, with all the original accessories, packaging and manufacturing seals intact"2. Postage is not refunded2.
  • Time. CurrentBody lists 10-minute sessions, "4 times per week"1. Some masks run for 3 minutes.

The alternatives

Listed in alphabetical order. We name no winner.

Dr. Dennis Gross DRx SpectraLite FaceWare Pro

This is a rigid mask with "up to 100 lights" in red or blue, for wrinkles and acne3.

  • How it differs from CurrentBody: it adds blue light for breakouts, and a session lasts 3 minutes3. It lists no near-infrared light3.
  • Price: $455, or $14.99 less than CurrentBody3. The page says it comes with a "full-year warranty"3.
  • FDA record: the page says "FDA Cleared"3. We found no 510(k) record under Dr. Dennis Gross (searched 24 Oct 2026)14.
  • Buyers say: Trustpilot 2.2 out of 5 from 8 reviews, on an unclaimed profile (checked 24 Oct 2026)15. Eight reviews is too few to judge.
  • Downside: the saving is small, and we could not match the clearance claim to a record3,14.
  • Suits you if: you want short sessions and blue light for acne.

HigherDOSE Red Light Face Mask

HigherDOSE sells a flexible mask with "66 Dual-Core LEDs (132 Diodes)"4.

  • How it differs from CurrentBody: it is cheaper and lets you pick a 10 or 20-minute session4. It lists red at 630nm and near-infrared at 830nm, with no deep near-infrared4.
  • Price: $349, which is $120.99 less than CurrentBody4. A bundle with a serum costs $4184.
  • FDA record: FDA 510(k) cleared, K241933. The record names "HIGHERDOSE Red and Infrared Light Mask (MK66-L)" and is dated 27 Sep 202414.
  • Buyers say: Trustpilot 4 out of 5 from 144 reviews (checked 24 Oct 2026)15.
  • Downside: the site banner shows a "120-Day Money Back Guarantee", but the policy page only spells out "a 14-day return policy for unopened Blankets"5. We found no return term for the mask. Ask before you buy.
  • Suits you if: you want the lowest price with red and near-infrared light.

Omnilux Contour Face

Omnilux sells a flexible mask with red (633nm) and near-infrared (830nm) light6.

  • How it differs from CurrentBody: the same 10-minute session, two wavelengths instead of three, and a lower price1,6.
  • Price: $395, or $74.99 less than CurrentBody6. Omnilux suggests "three to five 10-minute treatments per week for four to six weeks"6.
  • FDA record: the page calls Contour "an FDA-cleared, flexible, portable home-use device"6. We found no 510(k) record for "Contour" by name (searched 24 Oct 2026). Omnilux records exist, such as K210948 for Omnilux CLEAR, but none names this mask14.
  • Buyers say: Trustpilot 2.2 out of 5 from 232 reviews (checked 24 Oct 2026)15.
  • Downside: the low Trustpilot score, and no record we could match to the mask14,15.
  • Suits you if: you want a similar routine for less. See CurrentBody vs Omnilux and our Omnilux alternatives.

Qure Q-Rejuvalight Pro Facewear

Qure sells a mask that it says treats fine lines, sagging, inflammation and acne "in just 3 minutes a day"8.

  • Buyers say: Trustpilot 4.5 out of 5 from 1,654 reviews for the whole store (checked 24 Oct 2026)15.
  • Downside: the refund policy says "We do not cover claims for efficacy within the first 30 days" and suggests at least 3 months of use9. That is longer than the 30-day window to return it9.
  • Suits you if: you want 3-minute sessions and a lower price.

Shark CryoGlow LED Face Mask (FW312)

Shark's mask pairs LED light with under-eye cooling10.

  • How it differs from CurrentBody: it has red, blue and infrared modes plus cooling pads for the eyes10. Sessions run 4 to 8 minutes by mode10.
  • Price: $349.99 on Shark's site, or $120.00 less than CurrentBody10. Amazon showed $339.99 on the same day11. Shark gives a "Two (2) Year Limited Warranty"10.

  • Downside: Shark's results come from its own 12-week studies, with 60 and 59 subjects10. We could not read Shark's return window on its site, so check Shark's return page before you buy.
  • Suits you if: you want a lower price, blue light and the cooling feature. See Shark CryoGlow vs CurrentBody and Omnilux vs Shark.

  • Buyers say: Trustpilot 1.7 out of 5 from 69 reviews for the whole store (checked 24 Oct 2026)15.
  • Downside: it is the only mask here that costs more than CurrentBody. The study on the page had 31 subjects12.
  • Suits you if: you want acne and anti-aging modes in one mask. Returns are allowed within 30 days of receipt13.

When to stick with CurrentBody

  • You want the deep near-infrared light. CurrentBody lists "red (633nm), near-infrared (830nm) and deep near-infrared (1072nm)"1. None of the other six masks lists 1072nm in its own specs3,4,6,8,10,12.
  • You want a record that names the mask. FDA 510(k) cleared, K250966, for "CurrentBody Skin LED Light Therapy Mask Series 2 (MK-90H)", dated 25 Jun 2025, applicant Shenzhen Kaiyan Medical Equipment14.
  • You want a 2-year warranty. The policy says "All of our devices offer a 2 Year Warranty period as standard"2. Shark also lists two years, while Dr. Dennis Gross and Therabody list one year3,10,12.
  • You trust large review samples. Trustpilot showed 4.4 out of 5 from 25,195 reviews, the largest count on this page (checked 24 Oct 2026)15.

The CurrentBody page also asks you to patch test first and says that if the skin turns red or itchy, you can "return the device to us within 14 days for a full refund"1. For every mask's FDA number in one place, see LED masks and FDA numbers. If you use a mask after microneedling, read LED mask after microneedling.

How we picked Each mask is a full-face LED device sold in the US, with a public price and red light. "Cheaper" means a lower price than CurrentBody's $469.99 on 24 Oct 2026. We left out masks that cost more than twice that. The Déesse PRO costs $1,70016 and the MZ Skin LightMAX Supercharged 2.0 costs $95017. All facts come from public pages, the FDA database and review sites, checked on 24 Oct 2026. We did not test these products.

Frequently asked questions

Is CurrentBody the best LED mask on the market?

We do not name a best mask. CurrentBody Series 2 has the most Trustpilot reviews here, 4.4 out of 5 from 25,195, and a third wavelength at 1072nm. It also costs more than five of the six alternatives. Its results figures come from the brand's own 35-person study. Use the table above to weigh price, FDA record, session time and returns.

Which one is better, Omnilux or CurrentBody?

Neither wins on every count. On 24 Oct 2026 the Omnilux Contour cost $395 and CurrentBody Series 2 cost $469.99, a $74.99 gap. CurrentBody has a 510(k) record that names the mask, K250966. We found no record that names Contour. Both run 10-minute sessions. Our CurrentBody vs Omnilux page compares them side by side.

Are cheaper LED masks worth it?

We can only compare what is public. HigherDOSE ($349) and Shark CryoGlow ($349.99) cost about $120 less than CurrentBody, and both have FDA 510(k) records that name the mask: K241933 and K242796. A record shows the FDA cleared the device for sale. It does not prove one mask gives better results than another.

Is the CurrentBody mask FDA cleared?

Yes. FDA 510(k) cleared, K250966. The record names "CurrentBody Skin LED Light Therapy Mask Series 2 (MK-90H)", was decided on 25 Jun 2025, and lists Shenzhen Kaiyan Medical Equipment as the applicant. We checked the FDA's 510(k) database on 24 Oct 2026. The product page also says "FDA cleared".
